The Central Military Clinical Hospital provides medical assistance to people suspected of COVID-19

CHISINAU, April 8, 2020 — The Central Military Clinical Hospital (CMCH) provides support to strategic medical institutions in hospitalizing and testing the health of people suspected of being infected with the COVID-19 virus at the request of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.

According to the head of the SCMC, Medical Colonel Vladimir Trofimov, between March 30 and April 6, the institution received over 100 citizens who had symptoms specific to the new coronavirus. "According to the established procedures, the respective patients are transported to the military hospital by ambulances of the National Center for Pre-Hospital Emergency Medical Assistance from all localities in the country. Here all the necessary tests are performed, the patients tested positive were transported urgently to the strategic medical institutions for treatment. The others are placed at home, under the supervision of family doctors from localities", said Colonel Trofimov.

The source specified that the institution has about 50 beds for the hospitalization of the respective patients, but also qualified medical staff, well-trained and provided with properly equipped modern equipment.

Minister of Defense Alexandru Pinzari appreciated the efforts of CMCH doctors, who intervened in the actions to combat the new coronavirus.

"Only through responsibility, support, care and solidarity we will be able to overcome this difficult period! I thank the doctors of the Central Military Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense, who offered help to the authorities once the state of emergency was declared in our country, in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, offering ambulances to transport patients with signs of COVID-19 infection to which, fortunately , the tests proved to be negative", said the Minister Pinzari.
