The commander of the National Army inspected the fixed posts in the city of Soroca

CHISINAU, April 10, 2020 — The Commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Igor Gorgan, visited today the soldiers who are seconded to the fixed posts, in the city of Soroca, a quarantined locality.

General Igor Gorgan checked how the monitoring and verification points for people and transport at the entrance to the city were arranged, how the soldiers of the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion are equipped and what the conditions of activity and accommodation are.

The commander of the National Army mentioned, in the discussion with the military, about the strict observance of the protection rules against COVID-19, through regular sanitation and disinfection, including the rooms where they are accommodated.

At the same time, in Soroca, the commander of the National Armed Forces had a meeting with the president of the district, Veaceslav Rusnac, and discussed the current situation in the Soroca municipality in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and other existing problems facing locals and local administration.

Also today, the fixed posts in Soroca were inspected by the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Igor Dodon, who became acquainted with the state of affairs in this region, and thanked the structures involved with the actions taken not to spread the new coronavirus.

It should be mentioned that 25 soldiers of the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion monitor and supervise, starting with the 1st of April, together with the police, the movement of people in the city of Soroca. The decision was taken by the Commission for Exceptional Situations following the establishment of the quarantine regime in this city, in connection with the increase in the number of cases of infection with the new coronavirus.
