Between April and July, about 1210 young people will be enlisted in the National Army

CHISINAU, May 14, 2020 - Approximately 1,210 recruits will be recruiting for full-time military service in the National Army during April - July this year and up to 10 recruits - in short-term military service. A decision to this effect was approved at the Government meeting on 13 May.

According to the draft Government decision "Regarding the results of incorporation into military service in October 2019-January 2020 and incorporation into military service in April-July 2020", presented to the Cabinet of Ministers by Defense Minister Alexandru Pinzari, the incorporation of citizens into military service will perform in stages, according to a schedule prepared by the Ministry of Defense.

At the same time, the financial assurance of the activity of the recruitment-incorporation commissions, as well as of the measures organized at local level regarding the incorporation of the citizens in the military service, their transport to the recruitment-incorporation commissions, in the territorial administrative-military bodies and the transport of recruits to the place of service will be provided from the budget of the Ministry of Defense.

During the enrollment campaign from October 2019 - January 2020, 1,227 young people were recruiting into the National Army, as established in accordance with the legislation in force. Their stay in the military units was extended in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, from March 24, until the lifting of the state of emergency in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The term military service in the National Army lasts 12 months, and the short term one - 3 months, for which graduates of higher education institutions are enrolled.
