ICRC plans an international conference in the Republic of Moldova in 2012According to Bondarenko, as compared to Belarus and Ukraine, that have implemented the international humanitarian law study programs only at the theoretical level so far, Republic of Moldova managed to apply these projects into practice both within the Military Academy of the Armed Forces and some military units of the National Army. „Thus, an international conference may be organized in the Republic of Moldova in 2012 on this issue to give you the chance to share your experience with foreign experts in term of implementation of the Law of Armed Conflict at all levels of education”, Bondarenko said. The ICRC official told the Minister of Defense about one more scholarship at the Expert Training Center from Italy to be awarded for the second year to the National Army on behalf of the institution he represents. Minister of Defense, Vitalie Marinuta, encouraged ICRC’s idea to organize an international conference in the Republic of Moldova.
