Artillery “throws” bombs!

CHISINAU, May 27, 2011 — The Artillery Unit from Ungheni threw bombs Thursday, May 26, using an 82 mm ammunition bomb launcher.

The commander of the unit, LTC Sergiu Railean, stated they made tactical applications and battle shootings after a five-year break.

„Nearly 70 servicemen took part in battle shooting exercises meant to improve conscripts’ and servicemen’s professional skills and fire preparedness”, Railean said.

According to the quoted source, the event was held at the artillery unit training site. Sergiu Railean pointed out they had taken all the necessary security measures to avoid injury of the neighborhood population.

The military men threw a total of nearly 80 bombs at 1600 and 4500 meter distance.
