Telephone conversation: Cooperation of the National Army with EU countries, for the attention of Brigadier General Igor Gorgan and General Claudio Graziano



CHISINAU, June 5, 2020 - The Chief of the General Staff of the National Army, Commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Igor Gorgan, had a telephone conversation with the President of the Military Committee of the European Union, General Claudio Graziano.

Officials addressed the epidemiological situation in the world and in the Republic of Moldova, the involvement of the National Army in the prevention of COVID-19, the stage of cooperation of the defense institution with EU countries, as well as joint projects in the field.

General Gorgan briefed General Graziano on the military forces and means used to support the authorities in combating the COVID 19 pandemic during the state of emergency and on the measures taken by the National Army leadership in the context of the spread of the new coronavirus.

Thus, General Gorgan referred to the evacuation of a Moldovan soldier from the European Union military training and advisory mission for the defense and security forces in Mali in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic expansion, the rescheduling of the exercise date and the rotation of the 12th National Army contingent in Operation KFOR.

In the end, the parties agreed to continue defense cooperation with EU countries.
