Newspaper “Oastea Moldovei” marks its 19th anniversary

CHISINAU, May 27, 2011 — The first military publication of the country, newspaper „Oastea Moldovei” (Moldovan Army), marked Friday, May 27, its 19^th anniversary. Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta congratulated journalists working in the military media area, praising their contribution to promoting National Army image, as well as professional products.

The Ministry of Defense pointed out the role of military media in promoting the National Army image in the society, referring mainly to the statute of military journalism in the national mass-media.

„Due to this publication, the military institution has become more transparent and credible. Since 1992, Oastea Moldovei newspaper has focused its activity on principles of professionalism and accuracy”, Minister Marinuta stated. „I would like to wish military mass-media more performances and achievements in future”.

The Chief of National Army Main Staff, Brigadier Gen. Iurie Dominic, also congratulated the military journalists at the editorial office.

Your products are very good and important both for the military and the society„, the National Army Commander, who had a short experience as a part-time correspondent of „Oastea Moldovei” newspaper, stated.

The first newspaper „Oastea Moldovei” was published on May 27, 1992. Oastea Moldovei is an 8 A3-page newspaper printed twice a month with a total of 2000 copies.
