Fighting shots at the "Dacian Shield " exercise (video)

CHISINAU, July 18, 2020 - At the Training Center of the Motorized Infantry Brigade "Dacia" in Cahul, the tactical exercise with combat shootings "Shield of the Dacians 2020" ended. The trainings, which were attended by over 500 soldiers of the National Army, took place between July 13-17.

The final phase of the exercise was attended by the Minister of Defense, Alexandru Pinzari, the Chief of General Staff, Brigadier General Igor Gorgan, the Secretary of the Supreme Security Council of the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova, Victor Gaiciuc, and the command corps of the National Army.

Officials monitored the shootings by participating soldiers from anti-tank guns, anti-aircraft installations and infantry weapons. Armored vehicles, military transport vehicles and a towed mine planter were also used.

The scenario of the event also included the front magazine of the military technique, the briefing of information about the exercise and the actions of the staff according to the tactical situation.

Minister Alexandru Pinzari appreciated the performance of the military, mentioning that he is proud of the professionalism and confidence with which they operated during the maneuvers. "As always, we were impressed by the good training of our military in carrying out the missions provided in the exercise plan, the interoperability and interaction between different types of weapons and combat support structures being at home. I know that these performances are due not only to the intensive training and dedication of the staff, but also to their commanders, who taught their comrades the best practices for shooting. We will make efforts to develop the capabilities of the army in the future as well ", said the Minister of Defense.

It should be noted that the exercise "Dacian Shield- 2020" aimed to develop the capabilities of the staff to perform missions and tasks in peacetime and in crisis situations.

The trainings are part of the National Army`s combat readiness plan for 2020 and contribute to maintaining an optimal level of professional training of the military and the combat capability of the subunits.
