KFOR-12 contingent: Mission accomplished in Kosovo! (Video)

CHISINAU, July 20, 2020 - The soldiers of the 12th contingent of the National Army returned home from the KFOR peacekeeping operation in Kosovo, where they were for seven months. On this occasion, at the Ministry of Defense, a welcoming ceremony took place, attended by Minister Alexandru Pinzari, and the Chief of General Staff, Brigadier General Igor Gorgan.

Alexandru Pinzari mentioned the good performance demonstrated by the 41 Moldovan soldiers, who even during the pandemic managed to fulfill their missions brilliantly in the theater of operations in Kosovo.

"You have taken with you abroad the knowledge and experience gained over time. I had no doubt that you will live up to the professionalism and appreciation enjoyed by our military, who have acted and are acting in missions abroad, along with contingents from other states. Thank you for taking on this mission away from home, as most countries are battling the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus and while, naturally and humanely, worrying about your families remaining at home. Thanks to your efforts and sacrifices, to the military who participate, every year, in peacekeeping missions, operations and exercises with allies and partners, our country is appreciated and known", said the Minister of Defense.

In appreciation of the excellent results during his term in Kosovo, a group of soldiers received honorary diplomas from the President of the Republic of Moldova and distinctions from the National Army.

The 12th contingent of the National Army was in Kosovo between December 2019 and July 2020. It was replaced by another contingent of 41 Moldovan soldiers during a transfer of authority ceremony held last week in Kosovo. Italian military base Camp Vilaggio in Pech.
