Moldovan-Czech meeting at the Ministry of DefenseCHISINAU, August 5, 2020 - The Minister of Defense, Alexandru Pinzari, had a meeting with the Czech Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, His Excellency, Zdeněk Krejčí. The agenda of the two officials included discussions on the current state of Moldovan-Czech relations in the field of defense and the prospects of strengthening the partnership, through joint projects beneficial to the armies of the two states. The parties also discussed the measures taken in the National Army in connection with the spread of COVID-19, the regional situation, the continued cooperation of the defense institution with international partners and organizations. The Minister of Defense, Alexandru Pinzari, thanked the Czech diplomat for the assistance and training of the Moldovan military in the field of logistics, military cartography, standardization and military medicine, but also for his contribution to the NATO Trust Fund Project on Destruction of Pesticides and Dangerous Chemicals in Moldova in 2018. In the end, officials agreed to intensify cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Czech Republic on the defense dimension, including by supporting the reform of the National Army and, respectively, the implementation of the second phase of the Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI). The Moldovan-Czech cooperation in the field of defense started on 16 May 2011.
