Minister of Defense Alexandru Pinzari and his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Taran: telephone conversation on bilateral cooperation

CHISINAU, August 11, 2020 - The Minister of Defense, Alexandru Pinzari, had a telephone conversation today with his Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Taran.

During the dialogue, officials addressed issues related to the regional situation, collaboration with partners and international organizations, the participation of the two armies in joint activities, as well as the state of bilateral cooperation in the defense segment.

Minister Alexandru Pinzari informed Andrii Taran about the epidemiological situation in the country and in the National Army regarding the new coronavirus and the contribution of the Moldovan military to preventing and combating the spread of COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova, by patrolling and monitoring quarantined localities with police and carabinieri.

The two Ministers also discussed the impossibility of carrying out, this year, due to the pandemic, several activities, including exercises, in which the contingents of the National Army were to participate together with the military from Ukraine and other countries.

In the end, the parties agreed on the intensification of the Moldovan-Ukrainian cooperation relations on areas of common interest and the implementation of new beneficial projects for the two defense institutions.
