National Army Celebrates Independence Day (video)

CHISINAU, August 27, 2020 - The military of the National Army from all garrisons celebrated the 29th anniversary of the proclamation of the Independence of the Republic of Moldova.

In Chisinau, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense, together with members of the Government, and soldiers from the command corps of the National Army, laid flowers at the Monument of and, respectively, the Sorrowful Mother.

At the same time, in all military garrisons, the country`s flag was hoisted and the state anthem was sung.

In the context of Independence Day, the Ministry of Defense hosted an event to set a world record. Within it, the famous collector, Petru Costin, colonel of the Customs Service, scientific collaborator of the Center for Military Culture and History, author of over 300 exhibitions, presented on the plateau of the Ministry of Defense the largest collection of horseshoes in the world - 12,000 units, in the presence of representatives of the Supreme Security Council, the leadership of the General Staff and independent experts.

Also, a map of the Republic of Moldova was displayed, made only of coins.

It should be noted that the event was organized in collaboration with the Customs Service of the Republic of Moldova.
