Military Academy "Alexandru cel Bun" Marks 28th Anniversary



CHISINAU, October 5, 2020 - Today, the Minister of Defense Alexandru Pinzari handed over to a group of military and civilian employees of the Military Academy of the Armed Forces "Alexandru cel Bun" (AFMA) distinctions and diplomas.

The mentions were offered as a sign of gratitude for the professionalism demonstrated in the service, but also on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the educational institution.


During the ceremony, held on this occasion, Alexandru Pinzari congratulated the students and teachers, who today form the staff of the Military Academy, but also all those who contributed to the formation and development of the institution during the almost three decades of activity.


The Minister of Defense also thanked the teachers of the institution for their dedication and for the enormous work done in training and educating generations of officers, who have been and are a valuable human resource for the National Army. "Dear teachers, today we have a young generation of good professionals, eager to assert themselves and with clear career goals. And this is your merit! The beautiful results are obtained through the personal effort of each of you, through the team spirit, through the pride of belonging to the only higher education institution with a military profile in the country. I appreciate you and I am grateful for the professionalism you show in the training of military students, who in recent years, through the gratitude and appreciation of the knowledge gained here, are accepted for post-academic studies abroad. Thank you for the sacrifice, perseverance and seriousness with which you treat every young person who chooses to study here and I assure you of my unconditional support ", said Alexandru Pinzari.


It should be noted that the "Alexandru cel Bun" Military Academy was created on October 3, 1992. The institution has eight specialized departments, within which about 60 teachers with various scientific titles work.

To date, AFMA has trained 2,130 officers in the specialties: infantry, artillery, transmissions, border guards and carabinieri.

The duration of studies in AFMA is three years, and students are at full state maintenance, accommodation, food and military equipment being free.
