Demining Missions in November

CHISINAU, December 2, 2020 - The engineers of the National Army identified and neutralized 206 explosive objects of different types, within 27 demining missions, executed on the entire territory of the country, in November this year.

According to the senior officer of the Genius Service, Captain Ivan Cornegruta, during that period, the genius teams were called twice in the village of Plop Stiubei, Causeni district, where they identified an arsenal of over 160 ammunition - grenade launchers, hand grenades, anti-tank mines and artillery shells. Demining missions were carried out by the military of the Genius Battalion "Codru".

Also in November, the engineers were called in Larga village, Anenii Noi district, and Sculeni locality, Ungheni district, where they liquidated explosive objects of different caliber, including a 50 kg aviation bomb, all left in the ground during the World War II.

Since the beginning of this year, the engineers of the National Army have detected and defused 2,427 explosive objects. Most of them were discovered in the localities from Stefan Voda, Ialoveni, Causeni, Cimislia, Floresti and Anenii Noi districts.
