Memory Eternal to the Fallen Heroes in armed conflict on Dniester (video)



CHISINAU, March 2, 2021 - Remembrance Day was marked today in all garrisons of the National Army.

Thus, in Chisinau, in the morning, the leadership of the country, of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the National Army, together with officials and veterans of the 1992 war, participated in divine service, held the at the Episcopal Cathedral Of St Teodor Tiron and laid flowers at the monument of Stefan cel Mare si Sfant.

Also today, at the "Eternitate" Memorial Complex, a commemoration meeting was held, where the participants held a minute of silence, and a group of soldiers from the National Army fired three bursts of fire.

As well, those present laid flowers at the monument "Maica Indurerata", at the memorial plaques on the territory of the Memorial Complex "Eternitate" and at the graves of fallen heroes in the fight to defend the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova in the Central Cemetery.

At the same time, the service members from Balti, Cahul, Ungheni, Causeni garrisons, the representatives of the local public authorities and the military-territorial centers commemorated the participants lost in Cocieri, Varnita and Cosnita.

It should be mentioned that due to the pandemic situation in the country, this year`s commemoration events took place in a limited format, in strict compliance with the measures for prevention and control of COVID-19 infection, established in the decisions of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission.

According to official data, over 30 thousand people participated in the 1991-1992 Dniester War that killed 300 military and civilians and injured 3,500 people.
