National Army Soldiers Graduate from Initial Military Training Course

CHISINAU, June 10, 2011 — 426 soldiers of the National Army have been awarded today, June 10, graduation certificates of the initial military training course. The graduation ceremony was held at Cahul and Balti Light Infantry Brigades.

According to Maj. Vasile Severin, Interim Chief of J7 Training Directorate, National Army Main Staff, the initial training of young soldiers consists of general military training for peacekeeping missions. The six-week course is held four times a year.

Severin said half of the course is dedicated to tactical training, square bashing, military regulations, physical training and other subjects. Practical assignments, including a survivor course, were held at the training sites.

After the graduation ceremony, the soldiers left for a three-day holiday. Then, they will be assigned within the National Army units.

Initial training is a modern military training program that started being applied in spring 2010. The course aims at replacing old inefficient curricula with the new ones.
