The Service Members of the National Army, seconded in the KFOR operation, continue their missions



CHISINAU, October 4, 2021 - The 15th contingent of the National Army, in the KFOR peacekeeping operation, continues to carry out the missions established by the higher command in the area of responsibility.

According to the commander of the Moldovan contingent, Lieutenant-Colonel Victor Goja, the Moldovan military provides security for major objectives, including the Visoki Dečani Monastery and the "Camp Vilaggio Italia" base in Pech.

At the same time, the peacekeepers are trained in patrol missions, on foot and by car, of the area of operations, interacting effectively with the contingents of peacekeepers from Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, but also Northern Macedonia.

The source specified that all activities are carried out in compliance with the protection measures against COVID-19.

It should be mentioned that previously the National Army contingent participated in practical sessions for evacuating the wounded by helicopter and training to control the crowd (phobia), which were trained by Italian, American and Hungarian colleagues. The group of engineers from the contingent also carried out actions to identify and defuse explosive objects, as well as missions to verify and investigate patrol routes and helicopter runways. The fifteenth contingent of the National Army, seconded in the KFOR operation, led by the North Atlantic Alliance, in accordance with UN Resolution 1244, left for Kosovo in early July this year.
