The eternal fire at the "Eternity" Memorial Complex has been temporarily disconnected

CHISINAU, October 22, 2021— In connection with the crisis in the energy sector registered in the Republic of Moldova, at the decision of the Ministry of Defense, the natural gas supply of the Eternal Fire from the "Eternitate" Memorial Complex was temporarily disconnected, until the gas injection system was remedied.

The flame was taken over by the military of the Honor Guard Company from the "Brigadier General Nicolae Petrica" General Staff Regiment and transported to the Museum of Military Glory from the of "Stefan cel Mare Brigade".

The measure was taken in the context of the decrease in gas pressure in the supply pipes and due to climatic factors, such as strong winds, which cause the self-extinguishing of the eternal Fire.

In the context of the created situation, the Ministry of Defense requested the company "Chisinau-gas" to disconnect today the natural gas supply of the Eternal Fire.

Natural gas leaks, in such cases, endanger public safety. As a result, the Ministry of Defense has repeatedly called on the help of teams from LLC "Chisinau-gas" to remedy the situation.

In turn, the company repeatedly warned the defense institution to take safety measures when using the natural gas that fuels the Eternal Fire.
