The National Army received a donation of equipment from the Federal Republic of GermanyCHISINAU, November 12, 2021 - The National Army received a donation of equipment from the Federal Republic of Germany for the safe transportation of liquid fuel, but also to improve the management of weapons and ammunition stocks in the defense institution. The technical-material donation is part of the second phase of the project "Strengthening the Armed Forces for the safe transportation, maintenance and storage of ammunition and dangerous goods" and includes three minibuses, three specialized trucks for transporting liquid fuel, a fire truck, a front loader, equipment for recharging fire extinguishers. Also, within the respective project, a room for the fire truck was built and training courses were organized for specialists in the field, lasting 4 weeks. During the event, the Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii thanked the partners for their support in improving the management of weapons and ammunition stocks of the National Army, thus creating a safer environment for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, by reducing the risk of uncontrolled explosions in ammunition depots and the safe transport of dangerous goods on national roads. "Thanks to the support and assistance of our partners, the National Army is now better equipped and trained in the management of weapons and ammunition stocks, and has better conditions for storage and transportation of liquid fuel that can be a huge danger not only to the responsible force, but also for the population near the warehouses ", mentioned Minister Nosatii. The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in our country Angela Ganninger, present at the donation ceremony, handed over to the military the international driving licenses, according to the requirements of ADR. Angela Ganninger stressed that her country supports a number of projects carried out in the Republic of Moldova, including the field of safe transport of dangerous goods, such as ammunition and flammable liquids. "We have done a lot together, training the staff of the National Army, so that the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova can meet all the international requirements necessary for the transportation of dangerous goods," said the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany. It should be noted that the total cost of the donation is estimated at EUR 1.5 million. In the first phase of the same project on the safe transportation, maintenance and storage of ammunition and dangerous goods, in 2019, Germany donated to the National Army five units of special equipment and equipment for unloading ammunition.
