Commander of the National Army on an official visit to Bucharest
CHISINAU, December 3, 2021 — The Chief of the General Staff, the commander of the National Army, Colonel Eduard Ohladciuc, met on Thursday, December 2, in Bucharest with the Minister of National Defense Vasile Dincu and his Romanian counterpart, Army General Daniel Petrescu.
On this occasion, Colonel Ohladciuc sent from the Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii congratulations to Minister Dincu on the occasion of his appointment.
During the meeting, officials addressed issues related to the collaboration between the two armies and the prospects for its consolidation, as well as the situation in the fight against Covid 19 infection among the military.
The Minister of National Defense Vasile Dincu mentioned the constructive relations between the two countries but also the willingness to continue the development of cooperation on the military segment. Also, the practical aspects regarding the joint training of the Moldovan and Romanian military were discussed, according to the Cooperation Plan for 2022, signed within the works of the Moldovan-Romanian Joint Military Commission, in November, this year.
At the same time, Eduard Ohladciuc mentioned the objectives of transforming the National Army into an institution adjusted to international standards and thanked the Government of Romania for the assistance provided, through training programs and courses with the participation of conscripts and sergeants, and for the exchange of experience between specialists in our armies. In his turn, Army General Daniel Petrescu reiterated his readiness to further support the process of modernizing the National Army`s defense capabilities according to international standards.
It should be noted that the Chief of the General Staff, Colonel Ohladciuc, was in Bucharest, at the invitation of his Romanian counterpart, between November 30 and December 2. Colonel Eduard Ohladciuc participated in the military parade in Bucharest and in the Military Ceremony in Alba Iulia, organized on the occasion of the National Day of Romania.
Due to the pandemic situation, this year, the soldiers of the National Army did not participate in the military parade in Bucharest.
