Anti-Corruption Week in the National Army

CHISINAU, December 9, 2021 - The Military Inspectorate of the Ministry of Defense is carrying out the Anti-Corruption Week on December 6-10. The action takes place in the context of the International Anticorruption Day, marked annually on December 9.

In this context, on Wednesday, December 8, a round table was organized at the Agency for Military Science and Memory, during which aspects of the implementation of policies to strengthen institutional integrity within the Ministry of Defense were discussed with the slogan "Preventing corruption between progresses" and impediments. Analysis of the implementation of anti-corruption policies in the Ministry of Defense. Exchange of best practices for a healthy environment!"

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the National Anticorruption Center, the Internal Protection and Anticorruption Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the General Inspectorate of Police.

At the same time, thematic information materials were distributed in all units of the National Army. Also, the responsible structure is holding information sessions this week on the subject of anti-corruption, which aims to promote and protect ethical principles, integrity, which allows ensuring an honest and honest public service, dedicated to the citizen and society in general. Within them, the military and civilian employees of the units are also familiar with the provisions of the national and institutional regulatory framework for the prevention of corruption.

It should be noted that the International Anti-Corruption Day is marked every year, on December 9, since 2006. This date was set by UN General Assembly resolution 58/4, by which the Assembly adopted the United Nations Convention against Corruption. The Republic of Moldova signed the Convention on September 28, 2004 and ratified it by Law no. 158-XVI of July 6, 2007.
