The Minister of Defense and the French Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova discussed bilateral cooperation in the military segment



CHISINAU, December 9, 2021 - The Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosati had a meeting with the Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova, Graham Paul, and the military attaché based in Bucharest, Colonel Daniel Parpaillon.

Officials discussed the state of military co-operation between the two states and the prospects for consolidating it.

In this regard, Minister Nosatii thanked the partners for the opportunities to study the French language offered to the soldiers of the National Army within the French Alliance in our country, but also for the possibility of completing the internship of the cadets of the two armies in specialized education institutions in Moldova and France. .

The Minister of Defense expressed his hope that this collaboration will continue, in the context in which one of the objectives of the Government`s work plan is to strengthen cooperation with foreign partners and international organizations.

Other topics on the agenda referred to the priorities of modernizing and transforming the National Army into an institution capable of fulfilling its missions in accordance with international standards. Officials also spoke about the experience of the Moldovan military`s involvement in peacekeeping operations, including the KFOR mission in Kosovo and Mali.

In the end, Minister Anatolie Nosatii and Ambassador Graham Paul agreed to intensify bilateral cooperation on the military dimension through projects and initiatives beneficial to both armies.
