Ministry of Defense - 30 years since its formation

CHISINAU, February 7, 2022 - The staff of the Ministry of Defense today marked 30 years since the creation of the institution, during a military-protocol ceremony.

The event, attended by Minister Anatolie Nosatii, National Army Commander Colonel Eduard Ohladciuc, State Secretaries, military and civilian employees, began with a moment of silence in memory of the veterans of the Ministry of Defense and all fallen colleagues.

Anatolie Nosatii congratulated those present on the occasion of the anniversary and presented a group of military and civil servants with National Army awards and diplomas for their performance.

"Thirty years after its creation, the Ministry of Defense can boast of a well-trained team of military and civilian employees who competently manage the work of the institution. I want to thank you for your perseverance and dedication in the performance of your duties," said Minister Nosatii.

The Ministry of Defense was created on February 5, 1992, by decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova. The mission of the institution is to develop and promote state policy in ensuring national defense, to direct and coordinate the activities of the National Army in the field of defense and state security.
