Providing housing space for employees of law enforcement agencies in the Republic of Moldova - to the attention of the state leadership

CHISINAU, February 9, 2022 - Today, at the Ministry of Defense was held a working meeting with representatives of the force structures of the Republic of Moldova to discuss the issue of providing housing space.

The meeting aimed to initiate the establishment of a working group to analyze the situation in the field of providing housing for military personnel, employees of the national defense system, state security bodies, law enforcement bodies, prison administration, and war veterans participating in combat actions to defend the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova.

The meeting was chaired by Sergiu Plop, Secretary of State for National Defense System Resources, Human Resources Development, and Military Education, who noted that the provision of housing space with property rights is a problem that has come to the attention of the current government and needs to be addressed to prevent the flow of departures of specialists from the security and defense system.

The Secretary of State specified that the Working Group, to be established by a Government Order, will have the role to develop proposals on potential solutions for providing housing space (improvement of living conditions) to employees of the force structures and veterans, which will then be submitted for revision of the existing regulatory framework in the field concerned.

As necessary, to carry out the tasks set out, the Working Group will involve in its work representatives of the central public administration authorities, experts in the field, including representatives of other authorities subordinated to the Government and the Parliament, for matters falling within their competence.
