The regulation on how to provide service housing for the military has been amended

CHISINAU, February 23, 2022 - The normative framework, which provides for the distribution of service housing administered by the Ministry of Defense and military units of the National Army, has been adjusted. A decision in this regard was approved today, during the Government meeting.

According to the amendments, the contract military and civilian employees, who have benefited from housing at preferential prices, through state departmental programs, including those started by local public authorities, will not have the right to be provided with service housing.

In the case of employees who have been released from military service, but will be repeatedly included, within 3 months, within the subdivisions of the National Army, they will have the right to extend the term of the lease for the duration of the new service contract military. Thus, the military will be able to keep their service home, which according to the law, must be released within 3 months from the date of termination of service.

At the same time, the Regulation regulates the procedure for granting service housing to military personnel who will be re-employed as civilian employees of the National Army. In this case, the lease may be extended. Until now, it has been necessary to conclude a new contract, as a civil servant. Also, the project excludes some gaps regarding the process of verifying the information by the public authority about the existence or non-existence of real estate belonging to the tenant and his family members with property rights on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

During 2016-2018, 479 families of contract soldiers of the National Army from the Chisinau, Cahul and Balti garrisons were provided with service housing.
