In support of refugees: The National Army provides assistance with military and vehicles



CHISINAU, March 13, 2022 - The National Army continues to support the authorities in managing the crisis related to the flow of refugees from Ukraine.

Thus, starting with March 2, transport units equipped by the army took the humanitarian aid provided by foreign partners from Chisinau International Airport to the warehouses for collecting goods from Chisinau and Vatra, as well as accommodation centers for people coming from Ukraine from these localities.

At the same time, minibusses equipped by the National Army transported refugees from the Palanca border crossing point to the placement centers in the city of Causeni.

At the same time, soldiers from the General Staff Regiment "Brigadier General Nicolae Petrica" and the 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion "Blue Helmets", as well as students of the Military Academy "Alexandru cel Bun" participated in the loading and unloading of goods at the centers for refugees opened by central and local public authorities in the country.

It should be noted that during the state of emergency, starting with February 27, the National Army participated with staff and technical units in several such actions, in support of central and local public authorities, in accordance with the decisions of the Commission for exceptional situations. Earlier, the battalions of the 22nd Battalion provided assistance in setting up refugee centers in the U.S. "Easy Athletics Management" in Chisinau and at the "Futsal Arena FMF" Sports Complex in Ciorescu commune, and the engineers from the "Codru" Genius Battalion worked at the temporary accommodation points in Straseni and Cojusna.

At the same time, the Military Academy of the Armed Forces "Alexandru cel Bun" provided the Moldexpo Center with beds, underwear, and pillows to expand the space for refugees, and the infantry from the Motorized Infantry Brigade "Moldova" contributed to the unloading of humanitarian aid for the open center. two hotels in Balti.

Also, the "Stephen the Great" Brigade in Chisinau sheltered, during the state of emergency, over 1000 refugees from Ukraine at the temporary placement center on the territory of the unit.
