85 Young Officers Graduate from Military Academy
CHISINAU, July 02 — The corps of officers of the Armed Forces should be part of the modernization process of the country, mainly focusing on the European integration issue, and the knowledge they have should meet the current requirements of the areas they are working in, Republic of Moldova Interim President, Marian Lupu, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, stated today, during the awarding ceremony of lieutenant rank and graduation certificates to the 2011 graduates of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy.
According to the head of state, the graduates we have today are the future of the Armed Forces. They are the ones to implement the best practices of the military art area. “I would like to point out the professionalism and the perfect image will have a direct impact on the successful achievement of the goals of change and reform of all Armed Forces components and establishment of a viable structure able to fulfill the missions in compliance with the existent requirements”, Marian Lupu stated.
The awarding ceremony for the 85 graduates of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy was held on Marii Adunari Nationale Square. During the event, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces awarded graduation diplomas and the “Brilliant Serviceman” badge to the best Military Academy young graduates.
In 2011, 85 students graduated from the Military Academy, where they studied such specialties as: infantry — 19 people, artillery — 9, Communications — 19, Border Guards — 15 and Carabineers — 23. 55 of the graduates were prepared for the National Army, 15 — for the Border Guard Service and 23 — for the Carabineer Troops.
Since 1992, the Military Academy prepared over 1275 officers for the Armed Forces at the following specialties: infantry, artillery, communications, carabineers and border guards.
