The new military attaché of the Kingdom of the Netherlands presented to the Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, June 1, 2022 - The Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii had a meeting today with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Romania and the Republic of Moldova, E. S. Roelof van Ees who introduced the new Dutch Defense Attaché, accredited for Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova, Lieutenant-Colonel Erik Hendrik van Vuren.

Anatolie Nosatii congratulated the military attaché on the occasion of his appointment, expressing his conviction that the experience he has will contribute to boosting the cooperation relations between the two states.

Topics on the agenda included the actions taken so far in the context of the partnership, the security situation in the region, the importance of constructive cooperation with foreign partners for the defense sector, and the priorities of transforming the National Army into an institution modern and functional, in line with the international standards of democratic governance.

The Minister of Defense thanked the Dutch Government for its support in training the National Army soldiers in specialized courses, as well as the financial support provided for the implementation during the years 2001-2002 of the project to destroy anti-personnel mines and "mixed" missile fuel. In the end, the parties agreed to intensify bilateral relations between the defense institutions of the Republic of Moldova and the Kingdom of the Netherlands through new projects and programs of common interest.
