Minister of Defense, in dialogue with the Ambassador of Latvia

CHISINAU, June 15, 2022 – Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii had a meeting today with the Latvian Ambassador to our country, E.S. Uldis Mikuts.

The main topics covered in the dialogue were the situation of regional security, military reform, relevant policy documents, and efforts to transform the National Army in line with the standards of good democratic governance.

Minister Nosatii briefed the Latvian official on the objectives of revitalizing cooperation with foreign partners, increasing participation in international peacekeeping operations, and providing support to civilian authorities in managing crises meaning the flow of refugees from Ukraine.

At the end, the parties discussed the prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the defense segment by identifying joint projects for the benefit of both armies.
