The military - trained in the management of ammunition stocks



 CHISINAU, July 1, 2022 - Today, at the Ministry of Defense, the graduation ceremony of the Practical Training Course in Ammunition Stock Management took place, attended by the Austrian Ambassador to our country, Stella Avallone, and the Conflict Prevention and Resolution Program Manager, from the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova, Stefan Stoklauser.

At the beginning of the event, the Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii congratulated the graduates of the Course and urged them to implement the knowledge gained as efficiently as possible, so that, through their activity, to contribute to increased safety and security for the population living near ammunition depots.

In the same context, Minister Nosatii thanked the Austrian government and the OSCE mission in our country for the assistance provided through the mobile team of specialists, which trained the National Army soldiers in the field of ammunition stockpile management. "I want to assure you that all the information provided by the Austrian instructors is useful and will be widely applied by our specialists. In the same context, I express my gratitude to the Austrian Ambassador to our country, Stella Avallone, and the OSCE Assistance Mission. "This support, manifested through donations and training, is very valuable and contributes essentially to the modernization of the defense institution and, at the same time, to the protection of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova," said Anatolie Nosatii.

According to Lieutenant - Colonel Grigore Rață, head of the Armaments and Ammunition Center, the training activity took place between June 13 and July 1st and is part of the "National Army Action Plan for 2020-2024 in the field of Physical Security and Stockpile Small Arms and Light Weapons, and Conventional Ammunition ”. The main purpose is to protect the staff and the civilian population living near the ammunition storage sites managed by the National Army, in order to reduce the risks of uncontrolled explosions. With the support of the Austrian government and the OSCE mission to the Republic of Moldova, 22 such courses were organized in the National Army.
