Collaboration within the PARP discussed at the Ministry of Defense



CHISINAU, July 14, 2022 — Bilateral consultations with the team of experts of the PfP Planning and Review Process (PARP) in the field of evaluating the implementation of the Partnership Objectives assumed by the Republic of Moldova took place at the Ministry of Defense, within July 12-14, 2022.

The activity program included discussions on progress in the implementation of development objectives, as well as the current needs of the Ministry of Defense and the National Army within the PARP.

The working sessions were attended by specialists from the subdivisions of the Ministry of Defense and the National Army General Staff, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Ministry of Finance, the Security and Intelligence Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the General Inspectorate of the Border Police, the General Inspectorate of Carabineers. During the experts` visit, the Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii had a working meeting with the deputy assistant to the Secretary General of NATO, Burcu San, who monitors the implementation of PARP in our country. During the meeting, the results of the Madrid NATO Summit and its importance for the Alliance`s partners, including the Republic of Moldova, were reviewed. At the same time, the officials discussed the way to further achieve the Partnership Objectives and the Assistance Package in the context of the Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI) for the Republic of Moldova.

The visit of the PARP experts to Chisinau is part of the External Cooperation Plan of the Ministry of Defense from 2022.

The Republic of Moldova adhered to PARP in 1997. The cooperation within the partnership allows the use of NATO member and partner states` experience in order to evaluate the political, military, and economic factors that could affect the PARP process, as well as the development of capacities of declared forces within the Partnership for Peace (PfP), intended for international peacekeeping operations.
