1840 Young Men Will Join the Military This Year
CHISINAU, July 12 — Nearly 265 young men will be conscripted to National Army military units today, July 12. The conscription process is performed in compliance with the Ministry’s of Defense schedule developed in common with the Border Guard Service and the Carabineer Troops.
According to Col. Eduard Ohladciuc, Chief of J 1 Personnel Directorate, National Army Main Staff, yesterday, July 11, the second stage of the conscription process started. Thus, 454 young men were enlisted yesterday in the National Army.
According to the spring 2011conscription plan, 1840 will join the Armed Forces during April-July. Most recruits will be enrolled in the National Army — 1114. 570 young men will be conscripted to the Carabineer Troops and 186 — to the Border Guard Service. In May and June, all the 100% of recruits highlighted in the plan joined the Border Guard Service and the Carabineer Troops.
Ohladciuc stated the conscription deadline had been extended at the Ministry’s of Defense request because medical-military boards were not able to finish the medical examination of recruits and perform full medical control, as well as other necessary procedures in such a short period of time. Thus, a larger conscription period makes the medical examination of recruits much more qualitative. At the same time, young men to join the army are better prepared for the service.
The quoted source specified a few activities are carried out during the conscription period to make the process successful. These events include the Recruit’s Day, Doors Open Day, the Military Sports Games “Pe meleagurile natale”, and others.
The Ministry of Defense opened the hot line 25 23 23 during the enrollment period (April — July).
In spring 2010, 2605 young men joined the active duty service.
