War veterans, decorated with the medal "30 years since the combat actions for the defense of the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova"



CHISINAU, August 26, 2022 —A group of war veterans was decorated today with the commemorative Medal "30 years since the combat actions for the defense of the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova (1991-1992)" of the National Army, during an event held at the Agency for Military Science and Memory. The activity was attended by Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita, Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii, Commander of the National Army, Brigadier General Eduard Ohladciuc, Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco, as well as Director of the Intelligence and Security Service Alexandru Musteta.

"It is important to have a developed state that can ensure continued growth and prosperity, to know that we can provide the coming generations with the security of a decent living at home and for that, I thank you, dear veterans. In these uncertain times that we live in, we realize the true value of the battles you fought and the true value of the peace we live in," said Natalia Gavrilita during the awards ceremony.

It should be noted that the decoration action with the distinction "30 years since the combat actions for the defense of the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova (1992-2022)" takes place in the context of the implementation of the National Program devoted to the Year of Gratitude towards war veterans, participants in the actions of fighting for the defense of the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova.

The decoration ceremonies will be organized in several localities in the country by the Territorial Military Centers, jointly with the local public authorities and public associations of veterans.

About 30,000 people participated in the armed conflict on the Dniester in 1992, of which 301 soldiers and civilians died, and another 3,500 were injured.
