"Fire Shield 2022" Exercise is over (video)



 CHISINAU, September 22, 2022 — The multinational exercise "Fire Shield—2022" has reached the end. In this context, at the training Battalion — the national Army training base the distinguished visitors` day was organized, during which shots were executed from the artillery systems and infantry weapons from the national Army`s endowment.

The actions were followed by Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatii National Army Commander, Brigadier General Eduard Ohladciuc, Chief of the Defense Staff of Romania, General Daniel Petrescu, Commander of the North Carolina State National Guard, United States of America, Major General Marvin T. Hunt, military attachés accredited in the Republic of Moldova and representatives of the General Inspectorate of Carabineers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii mentioned during the event the importance of carrying out the "Fire Shield" exercise, which has the role of testing and increasing interoperability with development partners but also to improve the combat capabilities of the National Army soldiers.

“Exercises of this kind are an important tool in the process of training the National Army troops. In particular, because we want to become even more interoperable with our partners in international peacekeeping missions," Minister Nosatii said.

At the same time, the Minister of Defense thanked the Romanian and American military for the exchange of experience made during the trainings.

It should be noted that the "Fire Shield-2022" exercise took place within 12-23 September 2022 and aimed to improve the skills of the participating subunits and increase the level of interoperability between the partner countries` armies in a multinational framework, specific to peacekeeping missions.

The "Fire Shield-2022" is part of the National Army training plan for 2022. The exercise has been held annually since 2015.

At the same time, we inform the citizens that, in the context of the completion of the "Fire Shield-2022" exercise, the military technique will return from the training centers to the permanent dislocation places.

We urge citizens not to panic when they see National Army vehicles traveling on national roads over the next few days and not to share images online to avoid fake news.
