Consultations with international experts regarding the optimal way of reforming and modernizing the defense sector of the Republic of Moldova

Chisinau, September 30, 2022 — A delegation of international experts from the North Atlantic Alliance paid a visit to the Republic of Moldova, in order to offer consultation and best practices regarding the methods of modernization and reform of defense sector institutions.

In Chisinau, the international experts carried out a series of work shops, within the framework they shared their experience and knowledge with specialists from the competent institutions of the defense sector regarding ways of developing functional cyber security and modernizing national defense capabilities.

The main topics addressed during the meetings with the representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff concerned the standardization of training and logistics, the improvement of human resources management, the modernization and renovation of the infrastructure, as well as the development of the cyber, defense capabilities of the National Army, including those intended to participate in operations international peacekeeping forces.

During the visit, the members of the delegation also had a meeting with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the National Army.

Minister Nosatîi appreciated the international community’s availability of expertise and assistance in achieving the objective of institutional transformation, in accordance with democratic standards and contemporary visions.
