National Army Special Forces Mark 30th Anniversary



CHISINAU, November 4, 2022 — The Special Forces Battalion (SFB) "Fulger" of the National Army celebrated today the 30th anniversary.

At the event held on this occasion in Military Compound 142 was present Minister of Defense, Anatolie Nosatii who congratulated the service members and civilian employees of the unit.

"The performance of officers, sergeants, and privates of the Special Forces Battalion "Fulger" in various exercises, missions, and other training activities has always been appreciated by our external partners and representatives of mission commands in which the unit’s services members have been participating for many years In this regard, I thank each of you for knowing how to promote the Republic of Moldova and the National Army at the highest level, to demonstrate that you are well-trained in compliance with international standards," Minister Nosatii said.

For service performance, but also on the occasion of the three decades anniversary of the unit formation, a group of the Battalion’s soldiers was decorated with National Army medals and diplomas.

During the event, the Battalion’s staff presented an exhibition of vehicles and equipment.

The National Army Special Forces Battalion "Fulger" was established on November 1, 1992, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova.

The unit has the mission to combat terrorism, conduct special research and searching-rescuing missions, as well as to protect strategic facilities.

In 2012, the Battalion received the Order "Credinta Patriei" (Loyalty to Motherland), 1st class.
