Delegation of the Ministry of Defense pays a visit to Brussels

CHISINAU, November 11, 2022 — Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatii is on a working visit to the Kingdom of Belgium, on the occasion of attending the NATO Committee meeting for Deputy Permanent Representatives responsible for Public Diplomacy.

In the context of the event, Minister Anatolie Nosatii had bilateral meetings with Benedikta von Seherr-Thoss, Director General for the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP) and crisis response, the European External Action Service (EEAS) and Vice Admiral Hervé Bléjean, Director General of the EU Military Staff.

During the talks with the officials, Minister Nosatii highlighted the multidimensional help that the EU provides to the Republic of Moldova, including the development of our country's defense and security sector, through programs and initiatives such as the European Peace Facility (EPF).

The agenda also included topics related to the risks and threats in our country's security and defense sector, as well as the contribution of the Republic of Moldova to EU peacekeeping missions. The parties also exchanged views on the security situation in the region in the context of the war in Ukraine.

At the same time, at NATO Headquarters, the Minister of Defense discussed the aspects of transformation and modernization of the defense institution and the assistance programs for the Ministry of Defense.
