Moldovan – Swedish Consultation at the Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, November 17, 2022 — Moldovan-Swedish Consultations in the field of defense policy and cooperation are held at the Ministry of Defense.

During the working sessions, specialists from the Ministry of Defense and the National Army General Staff and their counterparts from the Kingdom of Sweden will address topics regarding the bilateral partnership, the reform of the defense sector, the transformation process of the National Army, as well as the cooperation priorities for 2023.

At the same time, the discussions will focus on the projects carried out with the support of the Swedish Government in the context of the Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI), the implementation of the Professional Development Plan, but also on the significant support provided by the Kingdom of Sweden in the implementation within the National Army of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security.

Thanks to Swedish partners, through the Swedish Armed Forces International Center SWEDINT and the Nordic Center for Gender in Military Operations (NCGM), the National Army service members participated in various forms of training in the field.

It should be mentioned that the activity is found in the bilateral Cooperation Plan between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Moldova and the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of Sweden for 2022.
