The government supports an initiative to change the normative framework regarding employees in the force structures

CHISINAU, December 14, 2022 — Employees from the force structures who were previously trained at the expense of the state will no longer be obliged to return the expenses for studies if they are released from service and, respectively, within 6 months, re-employ a only once in the institution from which they were released or in another institution where military or special service is provided. An initiative in this sense was approved during today’s Government meeting.

Anatolie Nosatii presented, today, the draft decision “Regarding the approval of the Opinion on the draft law for the amendment of some normative acts”, a legislative initiative submitted by a group of deputies from the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova (no. 388 of October 25, 2022). It foresees some changes to the normative framework regarding the military, civil servants with special status and intelligence and security officers, which currently expressly establishes the obligation to complete military and special service between 3 and 5 years if they have benefited from training/ professional training or have graduated from educational institutions funded by the state budget. At the same time, previously, the law provided that, in case of release, they are to reimburse the state for the training expenses.

By voting on the respective initiative, the Cabinet of Ministers supports the respect of fundamental human rights and freedoms that refer to the free choice of work.
