The visit of the Japanese ambassador to the Ministry of Defense

CHISINAU, March 16, 2023 — The Minister of Defense Anatolie Nosatîi received the new ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Moldova, H.S. Yoichiro Yamada. The official was accompanied to the Ministry of Defense by the accredited military attaché for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, based in Kiev, Colonel Akihiko Tashiro.

In this context, Minister Nosatîi congratulated Yamada Yoichiro on the occasion of his appointment and wished him success in the execution of his mandate in the Republic of Moldova.

Anatolie Nosatîi informed the Japanese diplomat about the priorities of the Ministry of Defense, with an emphasis on defense, the support offered to civil authorities in crisis situations, the process of reforming the National Army, the projects carried out with the assistance of development partners, as well as about our country’s contribution to international security by participating in international peacekeeping missions.

At the same time, the officials discussed the prospects for the development of the defense partnership between the two states and the European path of our country.
