Moldovan American Law Workshop

CHISINAU, August 12, 2011 — The Law Directorate of the Ministry of Defense organized during August 8-12 a Moldovan American workshop on legal issues of the military area (“Legal Symposium on Multinational Operations”).

According to the Chief of Law Directorate, Radu Sereda, the workshop focused on strengthening the ongoing exchange of experience in the legal area and establishing the short- and middle-term cooperation between the legal staff of the Ministry of Defense and the North Carolina National Guard.

“The participants in the bilateral activity covered issues of national and military justice system and reform perspectives”, Sereda said. “We have also focused our discussions on legal aspects of work investigations, mobilization process and its stages, the activity of a jurist deployed to military operations and the support provided to the commander, as well as legal assistance provided to servicemen and their family members before deployment”, Radu Sereda specified.

Staff Judge Advocate, North Carolina National Guard, Col. Richard E. Fay, highly appreciated the cooperation with the National Army jurists pledging for a fruitful and long-term cooperation. He promised to keep supporting the Ministry’s of Defense legal experts in their activity.
