Autocross Championship on the 20th Anniversary of the National Army

CHISINAU, September 25, 2011 “The Ministry of Defense will keep supporting sports area in the Republic of Moldova”, Minister Vitalie Marinuta stated during the Autocross Championship held on Colonita track on the 20th anniversary of the National Army.

Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta opened the autocross championship in the race car of the Republic of Moldova Racing Federation President, Igor Vrabie. “The Ministry of Defense supports the development sports in the Republic of Moldova through the Central Sports Club of the Army. We also hope we would be able to invest more in sports and hold more auto and motocross championships in future”, Minister Marinuta said.

The competitions held during September 24-25 brought together 38 racers from the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. The sportsmen competed at the Baggi, 12, 8 and 7 categories. According to Victor Belevici, the Central Sports Club of the Army was represented by 3 sportsmen competing at motor 3000 cm3 and 1600 cmcategories. Racing has started being practiced by the Central Sports Club of the Army in the 50s of the last century. We’ve got a strong team of racers trained by masters of sports at the international level. This kind of sports is very expensive. Thus, we would like to thank the Ministry of Defense leadership for support“, Victor Belevici, Chief of the Central Sports Club of the Army, stated.

On the same day, Minister Marinuta attended the Telethon dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the famous Moldovan cinema director Emil Loteanu and the 70th anniversary of the well-known actor Grigore Grigoriu. The event was organized by “MOLDOVA-FILM” studio, in partnering with “Teleradio-Moldova” Company. The event was designed to gather funds for making documentaries about the artists’ life and career.
