Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy Marks Double Holiday
CHISINAU, October 1, 2011 — Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy of the Armed Forces marked Saturday, October 1st, its 19th anniversary through a “Doors Open Day” event.
The ceremony brought together representatives of the Ministry of Defense, defense attaches to Republic of Moldova, former commanders of the institution, representatives of regional military centers, school graduates, students’ relatives and friends, as well as people willing to see the infrastructure, equipment, activity and organization of Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy.
The 19th anniversary event included exhibitions of military technical equipment and weapons. The guests had the opportunity to visit the club and the library, the sports room, bedrooms, classrooms, training sites and the doctor’s office of the institution. The Military Academy also prepared military students’ traditional meals to treat the guests of the event.
Brigadier Gen. Vitalie Stoian, Director of the National Army Main Staff, stated during the event that Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy is the only institution of military education of the country. Thus, I would like to congratulate the entire military and civilian staff of the institution on the Academy Day.
Alexandru cel Bun Military Academy of the Armed Forces prepares high-skilled officers for the Armed Forces with a focus on three specialties such as: infantry, artillery, communications. Nearly 1275 lieutenants graduated from the Military Academy lately. All of them are working today within the main units and military units of the National Army.
