Air Force Command
The mission of the Air Force Command, as an independent operational unit, is to build, develop and prepare the Air Forces (armed forces acting in and from the airspace and watching over actions carried out in this airspace by other categories of the armed forces) for duty.
During peacetime, the Air Force Command directs battle forces and means, trains operational forces within military exercises, drills, independent or mixed exercises, international missions, in partnering with other force categories. The Command is also in charge of Republic of Moldova airspace.
During crisis situations and war, the Air Force Command takes battle forces under operational command, plans, conducts and watches over specific military actions.
While engaged in international missions or exercises both inside and out of the country, the Air Force Command is provided all the necessary forces and logistics by the General Staff.
Large air and anti-air defense units work under the direction of the Air Force Command.
