International Anticorruption Day, marked by the Military of National Army



CHISINAU, December 9, 2019 - The International Anticorruption Day was marked today in all units of the National Army.

The activity, entitled "An Integrity Defender - A Strong Army", aimed to take responsibility for professional integrity and promote ethical principles, transparency and intolerance of acts of corruption.

Thus, at the Ministry of Defense was inaugurated an exhibition of thematic drawings, winners of the drawing and painting contest, organized by the Military Inspectorate, a raffle with prizes and distributed promotional materials.

At the same time, informative sessions were organized in the military units with the theme "The National Army does not tolerate corruption", during which the staff on term and by contract became aware of the national and institutional normative framework on preventing corruption regarding the legal regime of gifts, conflicts of interests, non-admission, denunciation and treatment of inappropriate influences, non-admission, denunciation of corruption and protection of integrity whistleblowers, intolerance of integrity incidents and the functioning of the anti-corruption telephone lines of the Ministry of Defense.

Also, the representatives of the Ministry of Defense participated in the National Anticorruption Conference entitled "Sectoral approach to corruption: progress and deficiencies" and exhibited in the lobby of the Palace of the Republic promotional works and materials within the "Town of Integrity".

International Anti-Corruption Day is marked on December 9, 2006. It was established by UN General Assembly resolution 58/4, by the adoption of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.

 

The Republic of Moldova signed the respective convention on September 28, 2004 and ratified it by Law no. 158/2007.
