Meeting between Minister of Defense Alexandru Pinzari and E.S. British Ambassador Steve Fisher

CHISINAU, May 21, 2020 - The state of Moldovan-British cooperation in the defense segment and the projects carried out in this context were the topics of the meeting between the Minister of Defense Alexandru Pinzari and ES, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Moldova, Steve Fisher, which took place at the headquarters of the defense institution.

Thus, officials referred to study opportunities for Moldovan servicemen in specialized courses offered by the British side, language training for National Army contingents seconded to the KFOR peacekeeping operation, as well as expertise in developing strategic documents and support in the context of implementation Defense Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI).

Minister Pinzari thanked the British Government for the recent donation, in excess of 17 thousand pounds, of individual protection materials provided to the Ministry of Defense necessary in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the same time, Alexandru Pinzari appreciated the development in our country for the first time of the Course "Defense Management in the context of global security", in September last year, but also the assistance and support offered to training, preparation and participation for the third consecutive year of the Military Academy of the Armed Forces "Alexandru cel Bun" at the Multinational Competition "Cambrian Patrol".

At the end of the meeting, the two officials agreed to continue cooperation in the field of defense, through joint projects and initiatives, which would contribute to the development and modernization of the National Army.
