CHISINAU, April 5, 2024 — The Ministry of Defense has signed a contract for the purchase of a new radar that will improve the monitoring of Moldova’s airspace. The purchase is made with the financial support of the European Union through the European Peace Facility (EPF) programme.

In this regard, the Director General of the Estonian Implementing Agency, Magnus-Valdemar Saar, and the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the National Army, Brigadier General Sergiu Cirimpei, signed the Contract on the purchase of the radar to be delivered to the National Army.

On this occasion, Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi expressed his gratitude to the EU partners who contribute, through constant assistance, to the realization of the national objectives of strengthening defense capabilities, noting that such projects will continue for the benefit of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

At the same time, State Secretary Sergiu Plop had a meeting with the team of the Estonian Implementing Agency (ECDI) responsible for the purchase and implementation of the project.
