Young Men Enlisted in the National Army Take Military Oath

CHISINAU, December 22, 2017 — Over 600 young men took their military oath today during ceremonies held in Chisinau and Cahul garrisons.

At the event organized at “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade, Minister of Defense Eugen Sturza congratulated the 234 soldiers and asked them to carry out their missions with responsibility during their mandatory military service.

“Ahead of you, there are 10 months of training conducted by a sergeants, NCOs, and officers corps who studied the military discipline not only from books, but at training areas and international peacekeeping missions. I am sure that you saw their performance and their will to share their knowledge during the period that you will serve within this unit. They familiarized you with the military life, taught you how to face challenges, while you showed abnegation, perseverance, and discipline”, said Eugen Sturza.

Also today, other 374 soldiers from Military Compound 142, Anti-Air Missile Regiment, and “Dacia” Brigade from Cahul took their military oath in front of the National Army commanding officers corps.

After taking the military oath, the soldiers get a four-day leave.

The mandatory military service lasts 12 months.
