Romania will support our country in the training and participation of the National Army soldiers in peacekeeping missions

CHISINĂU, May 8, 2024 — The Cabinet of Ministers voted, today, on the Draft Government Decision regarding the initiation of negotiations and the approval of the signing of the Amendment Protocol no. 2 of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania regarding cooperation in the military field, signed in Chisinau on April 20, 2012.

Thus, the Intergovernmental Agreement of 2012 is to be supplemented with a new article that provides for the commitment of the Parties to provide mutual logistical and administrative support in matters related to the preparation and joint participation in peacekeeping missions, within the multinational coalitions under aegis of the UN, OSCE, NATO or the EU.

We mention that one of the wishes of the Republic of Moldova is to expand its contribution to international security, by participating in peacekeeping missions, including in the European Union operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina “EUFOR ALTHEA”, within the subunit of the Romanian Army.
