Training on Project Cycle Management

CHISINAU, August 16, 2013 — About 30 servicemembers of Ministry of Defense and Main Staff divisions attended today the seminar “Project Management Cycle”, held for the first time, in common with the representatives of the European Union project “Support to the State Chancellery — TTSIB”.

The Head of Defense Policy and Planning Division, LTC Vladimir Ababii, appreciated the possibility of training the National Army staff in project management area. “Such seminars are useful for the reform and consolidation of the institutional capacity of the military institution. We are grateful to TTSIB project experts for conducting such a seminar at the Ministry of Defense”, LTC Ababii said.

During the seminar, the team of TTSIB experts, ran by Janos Zakonyi, familiarized the participants with the concept, role and importance of project cycle management. Janos Zakonyi presented details and practical examples of stages of project cycle: analysis and planning, logical matrix: advantages and disadvantages, evaluation criteria, recommendations, as well as models of success in this area.

The next event of this kind will be held on Friday, August 23, at the Ministry of Defense. The seminar will focus on the effective use of European instruments of institutional consolidation — Twinning, TAIEX and SIGMA.
